Higher price than competitors — Hims is the most expensive major telehealth platform for equivalent treatments. Their oral finasteride starts at $22-30/month; Keeps offers comparable pricing starting around $20-25/month; Ro starts at $15/month. Over a year, the difference is $60-180. That's real money for the same generic medication.

Customer service complaints are well-documented — Across Trustpilot, Reddit, and the Better Business Bureau, complaints about Hims customer service appear at a rate that suggests a systemic issue, not isolated incidents. The most common complaints: difficulty reaching support, delayed responses, billing errors that take multiple contacts to resolve. The company has improved in this area, but it remains a legitimate concern.

Auto-renewal cancellation is deliberately difficult — Hims uses a dark pattern cancellation flow. To cancel, you must navigate several screens, reject multiple offers, and complete all confirmation steps. The platform is designed to retain subscribers, not to make cancellation easy. Choose Hims if: You want access to topical finasteride or the topical combo spray. You value a polished app experience and progress tracking tools. You're willing to pay a moderate price premium for those features.

Don't choose Hims if: You just want oral finasteride and minoxidil at the best price. In that case, Keeps or Ro will cost less for the same treatments.
